Scene 3- On to The Ferry!

I am now at the part where Matt and Puddles are getting onto the ferry and I hope to get some really nice angled Cinematic shots, here's a screenshot of a shot freshly completed:

(The Ferry doesn't allows animals so Matt must hide Puddles in his bag, however Puddles does not approve of this)

'Matt and Puddles' Logo Clip!

I have decided to upload the 18 second long clip for the logo. Hope people enjoy!

Seeing as Blob is not in the film (...much) i thought it would be a good idea for Matt and Puddles to take over his introductory logo section in the film.

Scene 3 Update, and a X-mas greeting!

I am now a few seconds off the halfway point of Scene 3, the scene mostly consists of a dockyard, a ferry and a beach. This is one of Blob Corp.'s more tightly packed scenes and will take a little time to get through. In the meantime here is a harbour Screenshot:

(Matt and Puddles sit and wait for their ferry to arrive)

And from Blob Corp. Animation Studios, to you!

MERRY CHRISTMAS!

Matt and Puddles- Intro Complete!

As with 'Blob and the Last Phoenix' I decided to work on the intro whilst in production of the main film. I have completed it, finishing at a 43 second mark, the introduction to this film is very important as it explains the division between the city and the rest of the planet. Making Matt and Puddles story to escape the city that much more clearer. Here are two screenshots from the intro:

(The Planet- Lillium. Home to Blob and many other characters, the planet is similar to that of earth but most of it has been untouched by man. Many areas of this world have been undiscovered)

(Outside of the City, in the Old Realm life goes on as normal. Only a few know of the small hidden city)

Updates on production of Scene 3 will be coming soon!

Scene 3 begins!

I am 7 seconds into Scene 3, where Matt and Puddles arrive at the ferry docks. This scene involves alot of difficult and time consuming animation. Such as water animation, background walk cycles, reflection of water and cars.

Nearing the End of Scene 2

I am nearing the end of Scene 2, having only one more shot to complete I hope to start production on Scene 3 soon:

(Exiting the house, a last look back before Matt leaves)

Note: The new title banner features past, present and Future characters.

Halfway Through Scene 2

Scene 2 has just passed over the halfway mark, where Matt and Puddles are seconds away from leaving the house. Outside that door is a life changing adventure.

Inspiration for 'Matt and Puddles'

My inspiration came from two main sources one is that I love my cat Puddles (to see him go back two/three posts) and my original idea was just for him to go on a adventure without me. However it didn't really fit his character so I thought if Matt kind of dragged him on this adventure it would be more believeale.

The idea for them to leave the city is to do with me and my love of the counrtyside and the green open lands, so when I go into my nearest city all I want to do is just get out of it again.
My second more concrete inspiration, once again comes from 'Studio Ghibli' and the film 'Kiki's Delivery service'. The story follows a young witch leave home with her talking cat to do a year of training.

However it was the cat in the film called 'Jiji' who was the biggest inspiration in the film, his sarcastic attitude and great design really inspired the development of Puddles.

(One of the best sidekick characters Studio Ghibli have done so far!)

Screenshot update coming soon.

Wednesday, 2 December 2009

Before the adventure begins Matt and Puddles must eat a healthy nutritious breakfast:
(Puddles enjoys a traditional saucer of Milk)

(Matt goes for a fibre option)

More interesting screenshots will be coming soon!

Dawn of adventure

(Matt and Puddles get up, the day to leave the city has come)

Scene 2 part 2 is now commencing and i hope to complete this scene by the end of the week.

Scene 2 Takes off!

Blob Corp. Studios is currently a few seconds into Scene 2 where Matt and Puddles set off on their adventure, here's a screenshot of Puddles running which will be used in future scenes when needed:

(I feel this is a good run cycle which I am happy with)

Here's a screenshot of the opening shot for Scene 2:

(It's early morning and Matt's alarm goes off)

More interesting screenshots will hopefully be updated soon.

'Matt and Puddles' update

(Here's the real Puddles not so talkative as the animated one)

I have finished the 1st scene which didn't take long because of the limited movement (e.g. laying in bed). I am in the early stages of Scene 2 and have also worked on some walk and run cycles.
Screenshot coming soon!

Into 1st Scene of 'Matt and Puddles'

Blob corp. Studios is into the first 20 seconds of the 1st scene, this scene introduces the characters Matthew and Puddles the cat. The Scene is at night time and raining:

(The Camera zooms up to Matt's window as the rin beats down)

(Not being able to sleep Matt wakes Puddles up, a bad idea)

Updates as Scene 1 progresses will follow soon.

Blob Corp. Studios new project!

I would like to thank everyone for their kind comments on 'Blob and the Last Phoenix'
My next animation is titled 'Matt and Puddles' featuring a young man called Matt and his sarcastic talking cat called Puddles. A brief summary of the story is that Matt is tired of the city, with its noise and natureless environment. So unwillingly followed by Puddles, he decides to leave, there's just one problem. It's against the law! Not that anyone could leave, the city is surrounded by an ocean and blocked by a ring of rock. However Matt has been given instructions on how to leave. Will Matt and Puddles leave the city or fall into a trap? What's beyond the city?
Hopefully during this week i will be able to reveal a screenshot.

'Blob and The Last Phoenix' released!

'Blob and The Last Phoenix' has been finally released, it would have been out a few days earlier but technology was not co-operating. I hope people enjoy it:

Update on my new animation will follow soon.

The Hunters get Nasty!

I am in the midst of Scene 4 where fighting, shooting, jumping, kicking ect is everywhere! Surprisingly I am getting through it all quite fast and hope to keep up the pace.

Here's screenshots of the Hunters getting ready to give Blob and The Phoenix a tough time:

(Razza readies his Hammer and Chain)

(Ermot is lining up something in his sights)

Current work continues as Future Project emerges

Blob Corp. Studios is still working on 'Blob and The Last Phoenix' currently on Scene 4 but have decided to upload new screenshot of scene 1 as am running out of unrevealing screenshots in the Scene I am working on :

(Blob tries to outrun the Hunters on the rooftops)

While I am working on 'Blob and The Last Phoenix' I have started Pre-production of My next animation. I will not reveal anything more than the title which is 'Matt and Puds' I have begun to draw the character designs for the two main characters:

(Puddles)

(Matt and his Cat Puds)

I will reveal the storyline and more nearer the time of completion on 'Blob and The Last Phoenix'

Wednesday, 28 October 2009

'Blob and The Last Phoenix' 70% Complete

Like the title says I think I am about 70% through the animation (maybe a tad more). Last post i mentioned this post would have a big reveal and here it is:

(So the Phoenix is out of the egg.... but the hunters are but seconds away!)

I am hoping to be able to post some pre-productions of my next upcoming animation soon. Details on next project will be released soon.

Scene 3 Complete! Now for the Danger!

Blob Corp. Studios has finished Scene 3 full of jumping, tumbles and discoveries. Moving onto Scene 4 where the main storyline takes a turn for the dangerous. I'm runnng short on unrevealing screenshorts so you will have to settle for a extreme shot background.

(An extreme far shot of a mountain that has been mined for silver)

Next update..... a big reveal to come!

Celebrating start of production for 'Cliff and The End of The Rainbow'

Blob Corp. Studios was thrilled to hear that 'The Daily Crumb' owner Nathan Viney was back to animating, from what we've uncovered it will be his most fantasy adventure based animation ever! Titled 'Cliff and The End of the Rainbow' we can only wonder in excitement what the storyline could be. In celebration for The Daily Crumb start production I made this:

(Couldn't fit the whole title in)
Anyone wishing to visit the Crumb and see first hand how progress is going should link below:

Blob's tired but no time to rest!

Although the main climax of the film is not reached until scene 4, scene 3 does have its own little one. I am now nearing the end of scene 3 where some difficult animating is to take place but shouldn't slow me down too much. Blob has finally reached the top of Phoenix Hill, but what will he do now? The Hunters fast approach:

(Far Shot: Blob takes the stairs as the Hunters ride vertically)

(Blob reaches the top of the Mountain and is exhausted)

College Project: Curiosity Killed The Alien

Teaming up with a few college friends we were assigned to do some sort of video with light, shapes and materials, we came up with an Alien idea. We all took the video home and edited how we wanted, this is my edited version:

Yes lame lighting and not great editing cos I was using WMM (Windows Movie Maker) so I wanted to finish the job quickly.

A post update about 'Blob and The Last Phoenix' will be coming soon!

The Beginning of Scene 3

Blob Corp. Studios has finished the tricky second scene of the animation and is now moving swiftly on to the third. This scene is fairly simple and shorter than scene 2 so will not take as long as previous scenes before. Here is a screenshot of scene 3:

(Blob has to bounce up a VERY large mountain! Much higher than any mountain in the land)

Hunters hot on 'Blobs' trail!

Animating the end of scene 2 which shoud be a lot easier than other parts of the scene already completed. A small amount of water animation to deal with and a little lip synch, and that will be that. Not much other news to update you on but here's a screenshot all the same:

(The hunters Ermot (right) and Razza (Left) riding Beetlemanders. Large like-Lizard beetles, used to carry cargo or pull wagons. Rarely used as creatures for riding)

Blob Corp. Studios Celebrates PIXAR's latest film 'UP'

Blob Corp. Studios was proud to be one of the first people in the city of Plymouth to watch the PIXAR film 'UP' in beautiful 3D. I am no reviewer but it was awesome and close to (if not) my favourite PIXAR film.

To celebrate it's brilliance 'Blob' decided to try and re-enact the floating house idea:

(However as Blobs chimmeny is to the far right of his house, it floated almost vertically)

Meanwhile the production of 'Blob and the last Phoenix' shuffles on whilst tackling college work, I am nearing the end of scene two:

(The Eel monster has a score to settle with 'Blob' and takes him for a ride!)

More updates and screenshots in the next few days, in the meantime go and watch UP if you have already watched it, go again!

Aquaticas Sea Monster makes a return!

The sea monster from 'Blob in Aquatica' has returned in 'Blob and The Last Phoenix' this time living within a lake. The creature still has the scar from the last time he met blob, will he be happy to see blob?
You can watch 'Blob in Aquatica' below (although it is Blob Corp. Studios REALLY early work)

Here's a screenshot of the sea monster in the newest animation, it's gone through some small changes:

More updates to come soon, still working through scene 2 and all its water animation which i am surprisingly enjoying!

A watery scene of hardwork!

Blob Corp. Studios now has the difficult task of animating a scene full of water, ripples and splashes. After being ill for a long weekend i feel i have wasted enough time laying about and am now jumping straight into the scene. I will update as i progress, in the meantime here is where the scene is at the moment:

( Blob ponders what waits in the lake)

My Youtube design has been refurbished and can be seen at www.youtube.com/menhenick

Blob Corp. Studios takes a step up Professionally!

Blob Corp. Studios has now got 250 full coloured business cards which show those who are interested where to go and how to get in touch =) I am very pleased with the prints and how fast the delivery was especially as they came all the way from the Netherlands 0_0

(Apologies for the dodgy lighting)

The site i used to create and order these cards was:

www.vistaprint.co.uk

A good reliable company that I will certainly use in the future ^_^

'Blob and the last Phoenix Title sequence completion'

Usually i complete title sequences at the end of the animation but i decided to finish this one as soon as possile once getting certain voices needed. The look i went for is a simplistic pastel smudged kinda style with a voice over explaining the history and this will lead into the main film. Here's two screenshots to better understand the style i was trying to achieve:

The animation itself is still in the midst of scene 2 where blob is about to make a very high jump, more updates and screenshots coming soon!

Speeding onwards into Scene 2

Blob Corp. Studios is into scene 2 now and has clear vision of what is needed to be done. Apart from detailed backgrounds and some tricky water animation, scene 2 should be realtively straightforward for the most part. Here is two screenshots from the beginning of scene 2:

(Blob discovers the location of the Last Phoenix nest)

(Blob has a long way to travel to get to 'Phoenix Hill' NOTE: Animals such as wild boars and birds are going to be added)

Animation production to slow down T_T

Soon it will be that time of year for Blob Corp. Studios to attend college and improve on animation skills, so animating in my spare time will continue but the speed of progress will sadly take a slower pace. Not to worry i will keep working hard and here's a screenshot (again):

(Razza and Ermot walk outside castle grounds)

Monday, 7 September 2009

The End of Scene 1 (Nearly)

Nearing the epic chase of Scene 1 now, so thought I'd release some screenshots:

(Poor Blob, it would be easier to hold stuff if he had arms)

(Razza and Ermot seem to be pretty annoyed at Blob)

Thursday, 3 September 2009

Nearing End of Scene 1

'Blob and the last Phoenix' is nearing completion of scene 1 out of five scenes altogether, scene 1 is laying down the plot and getting the story going. Here is a screenshot:

(Closer shot of Razza holding something, what could it be? Maybe a used tissue?)

Back from a 7 day holiday and bursting with creativity!

Blob Corp. Studios took an unexpected but very much needed 7 days off playing the wii and preparing many future animations. Now I am back carrying on with 'Blob and The last Phoenix'. Still animating in the midst of scene 1, this scene being a very large and complicated one will take sometime to complete. But for now here is a much needed screenshot:

(Blob overhears two people planning an evil scheme)

The big butch guy sitting on the crate is Razza, he's a blacksmith and a man driven by money. Oppisite him although not much can be seen, is Ermot a weapons dealer who is too cowardly to lead but has no problem following. Both appear honest and hardworking but.... money can corrupt anyone.

'Blob and the last phoenix' underway

Almost half a minute into the animation now so thought i'd be nice and upload some screenshots:

(A small section of the castle market)

(Blob has a staring contest with a tamed Gazellow)

Start of New Animation! No rest for the creative.

Blob Corp. Studios has already begun work on the next animation and is 15 seconds into the film. The film will be Blob's latest adventure titled 'Blob and The Last Phoenix'. The storyline will find Blob trying to stop two greedy hunters killing the last phoenix for money, after he stumbles upon them plotting thier plan. Blob stealing the Map leading to the unborn phoenix egg travels there himself. Only to be followed. Will blob be able to protect this vulnerable rare bird?

Apologies for no images in this post but as a new project I have little to offer up to the eyes of the public. However the story of 'Blob and the last phoenix' has been hidden away in my two most recent animations. Phoenix hill where the last phoenix egg rests is able to be seen in both 'Blob and the Celestic Sisters' and 'The crystal of Life'. To see it in both films watch the films below and stop at:

Celestic Sisters: 1:35

The Crystal of Life: 2:21

Updates on the animations progress will be posted soon!

Nearing the end of 'The Crystal Of Life'

Blob Corp. Studios is rapidly nearing the end and this will be the last update before it is released so here is one final screenshot enjoy:

(Confronting the Crystal theif, but is it too late to save the forest?!)

Friday, 7 August 2009

Exclusive Secret Screenshot! :o

Thought I'd be nice and show a screenshot that can give viewers an idea of what's going to happen in the animation. 'The Crystal Of Life' has been deadlined for the 19th August but I would not be surprised if it was finished a lot sooner. So if all goes smoothly this animation may see a mid-August release.

Animated Advert - Law firm + Computer Crisis!

Lets start with the more pleasant news, I have recently completed a animation for a client. It is another animated advert showcasing a law ...
